More Woo Woos

In all liklihood, my nearly 19-month old daughter will be potty trained before my three-year old son. For the past few days, the hubby and I have been able to work out her morning timing and she's happily done both wee wees and woo woos in the potty. Yay!

My son feels no embarassment about this whatsoever and even tells her 'good job' after she's done the deed. Go figure.

'All Done Potty'

I'm so proud of my 18-month old baby girl. After weeks of sitting her on the potty and entertaining her ad nauseum to get her to stay, I was rewarded with a 'deposit' this morning.

Unbeknownst to me she did her wee-wee, grabbed her diaper off the floor, then stood up and said 'all done potty'. I figured she was just done sitting there, but when I looked down I couldn't have been more excited to clean up someone else's pee.

Now that I've figured out her morning timing, just need to work on the rest of the day.

In other potty news, we've reached an impasse with my son and his refusal to put his woo-woos in the potty. So I've ordered Thomas the Train cotton underpants to combat his stubborness. Knowing how much he hates waddling around in nasty training pants, these should really light a fire under him. Guess we'll see.

Story Time

This afternoon, I caught my kids in a rare moment of quiet respite. Positive they were either up to something they shouldn't, I snuck in for a looksee. To my utter delight, my three-year old son was 'reading' to my 19-month old daughter.

One of his newer books, A Big Bed For Jed by Laurie Friedman was an instant hit and one we read at least once a day. To say that my son knows the storyline by heart is an understatement. With all the conviction a three-year old could muster, he ad libbed  each page, but stayed true to the story. My daughter obediently took in every word and seemed to enjoy her big brother doting on her. I couldn't be more proud.
